Joshua Vijay Kumar's
favourite song is
"Another Sunny Day 12/25" by John

To the left you see the best excuse a man can have not to
update his band's website as often as usual! The excuse is called Joshua
Vijay Kumar and was born on 27th october 2002 in Darmstadt. He weighed
3700g and was 52 cm long (as long as he only lies flat on his back, it's
not called 'tall', or is it?).
Right now I try to organize my new life as Daddy in order
to still be able to spend a lot of time in rehearsal rooms and on stage
with my other project.
Desong is still working on their demo tracks and currently we have to
deal with some major setbacks in our recording efforts, which could be
solved with money (which all of us lack at the moment) or time (which
I lack most at the moment). Nevertheless, since we managed to do the first
demo song, we will finally succeed with the others, too.

What's going on?
I don't really know what is going on in YOUR lives, but
mine has been a little busy the past two months and updating webpages
has NOT been a priority!
I'm a married man now, so please stop sending in your marriage proposals!
Nevertheless Oliver, Frank and myself found the time to
push our recording experiment a little further. The first offspring
is this predemo of Needle Blues.

If you want to have copies of the songs currently still
available on this site, you should start downloading
them soon.
We have started to make a little multitrack-demo and will delete all the
live material in the download section once it is finished. This will probably
take a little longer, but maybe some kind of miracle will shorten our
tortures.
I would be very interested in which songs you would like to hear on the
demo. Please mail
me your favorite Desong song.

I put the lyrics of two new songs on the lyrics page. Admiration
In Their Eyes and Dying Will To
Live will not be recorded anytime soon, but if you are in the mood
for little poetry, you can have a look.

An Cat Dubh

8 june 2002
Better late than never... my arm is a lot better and there
have been a couple of interesting events in the past month.
First of all, I am a flabbergasted webmaster today, in a surprise attack
we had 39 downloads of "black hole bitch", 33 downloads of "needle
blues" and multiple downloads of the other songs in only ONE day.
As far as I can read from the logs, they seem to have come mostly from....
Poland? Are we big in Poland? I haven't received any invitations to festivals
yet, but we are ready! Hello Polska!
Secondly I have officially joined An
Cat Dubh, the Celtic Rock band from Darmstadt and I will tour a lot
through the Rhein/Main area in the coming 12 months. Dates can be found
on their, I mean "our", website. Got to get this into my system!
Since it is official now, I can also tell you, HOW I broke my elbow-joint.
I actually fell from stage during the sound-check of what should have
been my first gig with An Cat Dubh on the night of the CD-Release party
of their latest album "Once", to which I did not contribute
the slightest bit. Buy
it anyway in the e-shop!
Desong does still do, what it does best. Which means smoking lots of cigarettes
during our once a week rehearsal. But after searching a nice studio for
3 months, we decided to take the money and build our own small recording
studio. Work on it commences this month with eletricity being rewired
in the rehearsal room. Hopefully we'll start recording next month.
There's a news archive now.

What's up with the webmaster of this site? Why is it so
silent after announcing such interesting things as properly recorded material
and radio airplay?
Well the reason can be observed on the x-ray picture on the left. It shows
the "hair-fracture" of one of my elbow bones, which results
in a thoroughly swolen and totally immobile elbow. No guitar playing possible!
To be honest, even writing this exiting news is rather painful. But one
has to do, what one has to do. Everything that has to do with music though
is postponed to a yet-to-be-announced date in the future. I WILL get well
and DeSong WILL record their material... just not now! "Get
well soon, Anand!"
Moreover I realized we have the one year jubilee of this site pending
in only one week's time. Don't expect much of it, please. I'll probably
just clean up the news section by shoving most of it into an "old
news" section.
There is more music-news concerning myself, the guitar player/singer of
DeSong, but it has to be official before I'll state it here.
The new Black Label Society release is still out.

25 march 2002
The DeSong title "Black Hole Bitch" is going to
be broadcast on Darmstadt's local radio station "RADAR".
Though this song really doesn't represent the DeSong band sound, since
it's the only "unplugged" arrangement, it is at least recorded
in a decent way.
So either tune in to 'Local Heros' on 30. March 2002 between 21.00 and
23.00 hours at 103,4 MHz (102,75 MHz or 97,0 MHz respectively for cable
tuners) or download the song and listen
to it as often as you want... your decision!
"Bubble Life" finally has a guitar solo I am happy with, and,
yes, the name sticks!
The new Black Label Society release is out.

28 february 2002
Yesterday we finished the arrangement of a new song with
the working title "bubble life". We'll see if the name sticks
or not. If I would stop playing that dead end solo of mine and come up
with something that fits the rest of the song, I would be extremely happy...
De Song is looking for (cheap?) studio time in the Rhein Main area, so
if you know something, mail us.
You absolutely MUST buy Bad Religion's latest release, if you're only
slightly into punk music. Why?

I (again) went over the mp3-section.
The soundfiles have improved a little AND got smaller!
We try to get some new songs together, but at the moment we only got a
riff collection that doesn't have a coherent feel to it. Back to work
then.

Happy New Year everybody. This is the year of big plans.
The band has some good intentions... let's see how things turn out.
There are some wonderful live pictures online which were taken by Heike
using NO flash. The atmosphere of these shots
is really cozy.
The "guitar tech" and coffee machine of my choice Olaf invites
you through our guestbook to the 10 year stage jubilee of his band An
Cat Dubh... which is gaelic and means An
Cat Dubh (23 feb 2002, Bessunger Knabenschule, entrance is free, but
drinks must be paid. I wish it was the other way round).
